Child Safety Standards

Last updated: September 11, 2026

Troopo has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, how anyone can report a concern, and who to contact.

Troopo Is an Adults-Only Service

Troopo accounts are for parents and legal guardians who are 18 years of age or older. Children may never hold a Troopo account or use the app themselves. Any information about a child that appears in Troopo — a first name and grade level — is entered and controlled by that child's own parent or guardian, and is shared only to help other parents coordinate a playdate.

Troopo is not a social network for minors, has no child-facing sign-up path, and does not permit contact between adults and children through the service.

What Is Prohibited

The following are strictly prohibited on Troopo and result in immediate removal of the content and termination of the account:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form
  • Content that sexualizes a minor, including text, images, and implied or coded references
  • Grooming, solicitation, sextortion, or any attempt to make sexual contact with a minor
  • Trafficking or the facilitation of trafficking of a minor
  • Using Troopo to identify, locate, or gain access to a child for any of the above purposes
  • Impersonating a parent or guardian in order to reach children or their families

These rules are part of our Terms of Service, and they apply to every part of the service: playdate posts, profile information, photos, and in-app messages.

How to Report a Concern

Reporting is built into the app and requires no special access:

  • Report a playdate or a parent — open the ⋮ menu on any playdate card or message thread and choose Report.
  • Block a parent — the same ⋮ menu offers Block Parent. Blocked parents immediately disappear from your feed and can no longer reach you. The blocked person is not told they were blocked.
  • Manage blocks — Settings → Safety → Blocked Parents.
  • Contact us directly — anyone, including people who do not use Troopo, may email support@troopo.app at any time.

How We Respond

We review every report of a child safety concern, and we act on reports involving CSAE with the highest priority.

  • Reports are reviewed within 24 hours of submission.
  • Content that violates these standards is removed, and the responsible account is terminated.
  • We preserve the relevant records as required by law.
  • We do not require a reporter to identify themselves, and we do not tell the reported party who filed a report.

Reporting to Authorities

Troopo complies with all applicable child safety laws. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through the CyberTipline, as required of electronic service providers under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and we cooperate with law enforcement and with the equivalent national authorities in other regions where we operate.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you may also report directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.

Designated Point of Contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety matters, including questions about our CSAM prevention practices and compliance, is:

General child safety reports may also be sent to support@troopo.app.

Keeping These Standards Current

We review these standards as the service changes and as guidance from regulators and child safety organizations evolves. Material changes are published on this page.
